In November 2010 I visited Iceland with a friend. One late afternoon we climbed up Öskjuhlíð hill in the centre of Reykjavík just in time to witness a beautiful sunset. The hill is the site of the Perlan, a revolving restaurant which situated on top of hot-waters tanks which supply almost half of Reykjavík’s water needs.

Views from the Perlan at sunset – looking towards the setting sun with the figures situated outside the Perlan.
wow fantastic, so heartwarming to see the setting sun!
Thanks, it was very beautiful to watch the sun set in Iceland. However, it did mean we went to bed early every night as these photos were taken at about 4pm, so by 8pm it had been dark a long time!
Nice photos. I’d forgotten about those figures. Great shot of them with the setting sun.
Thank you, I’m glad you like the photos. I liked the way the figures looked as if they could be real people with the way the sunlight made them into silhouettes.
Exactly!
